FLINT (WJRT) (11/02/2017) - The five teens accused of throwing rocks off an I-75 overpass on Oct. 18 that left one man dead appeared in court Thursday morning for a hearing.

The suspects are 17-year-old Kyle Anger and 15-year-olds Mark Sekelski, Mikadyn Payne, Alexander Miller and Trevor Gray.

Lawyers representing three of the teens requested mental competency evaluations for their clients during the probable cause hearing, which the judge approved. The exams will take place in stages over the next two months, as they are evaluated by psychologists.

The attorney for one of the suspects requested the judge set a bond, which could allow his client to be released from jail. The judge denied that request, so all five suspects remain in jail.

Attorneys also requested a quick investigation into whether the teens threw items off other overpasses.

The teens, who all attend Clio High School, are accused of throwing more than a dozen rocks off the Dodge Road overpass onto southbound I-75 in Vienna Township. One of the rocks thrown by Anger crashed through the windshield of a van and killed 32-year-old Kenneth White, who was riding as a passenger.

They are scheduled for another hearing on Jan. 11.
