FLINT (WJRT) - (02/21/19) - The Flint water emergency was back in national headlines Thursday after a tweet from New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker.

The Democratic presidential candidate said children in many U.S. communities are being exposed to lead beyond Flint. Booker says major infrastructure investments are needed.

His tweet: "The water crisis in Flint is not an anomaly—there are hundreds of jurisdictions across our country where our kids have higher elevated blood lead levels."

Booker pointed to a lead crisis in New Jersey as evidence of the bigger issue at hand.

"As your president, I will make a massive infrastructure investment into our communities to ensure our children have clean air - clean water. It is the rural spaces the urban spaces, like Camden NJ where the kids drink out of bottled water in their schools, because the water is full of lead. This is enough. It is done. There is too much pain, we will end it," said Booker.
