FLINT (WJRT) (04/03/19) - Some McDonald's workers in Flint plan to rally Wednesday to demand higher pay and union rights.
McDonald's recently announced it will no longer lobby against raising the minimum wage at the federal, state or local level. But supporters of the nationwide "Fight for 15" campaign say that's not enough.
Workers want $15 an hour as well as union rights.
Organizers say cooks and cashiers plan to rally outside the McDonald's on West Stewart Avenue at noon, during the busy lunch rush.
They say similar protests were also being planned in California, Missouri, Florida, Chicago, North Carolina, Tennessee and Wisconsin.
