SAGINAW (WJRT) - (4/22/2019) - Michigan State Police say a man died after not being able to escape an early morning house fire in Saginaw.

They say it happened just before 2:15 a.m. Monday on Bancroft Street near South 20th Street.

According to Michigan State Police investigators, a grandfather was inside his home with his nephew, two grandchildren, ages 11 and 17, and a 9-month-old great-grandchild.

Investigators say everyone made it out except for 37-year-old Gregory Cross from Lansing. He is the homeowner's nephew.

State police say an autopsy will be done to determine the cause of death.
