GRAND BLANC (WJRT) - (5/16/19) - The Grand Blanc Township Fire Department says firefighters witnessed the start of a fire at an outreach center.

They say it happened just after 8:45 p.m. Wednesday at the Holy Family Catholic Church Outreach on Saginaw Street.

According to the fire department, crews were outside the station when they saw the fire start. Firefighters quickly jumped into a truck and notified the Genesee County 911 center.

The department says only the outside of the building sustained fire damage because of the fast response. Smoke also had to be cleared out of the inside of the outreach center.

Investigators could not say how the fire started.
