UPDATE: Missing man in Grand Blanc Township found safe

GRAND BLANC TWP (WJRT) (1/12/2018) - UPDATE: Investigators say that 73-year-old Johnnie Thorton has been found safe.

His family was concerned since he had recently been diagnosed with dementia.

Grand Blanc Twp. police thank everyone who kept an eye out for him.


(1/11/2018) - Police are asking the public to keep an eye out for a missing 73-year-old man who was last seen around 10 a.m. Thursday.

Johnnie B. Thornton was last seen in the area of Fenton and Grand Blanc roads in southern Grand Blanc Township.

He is 5-foot-6 and 180 pounds. He was wearing khaki pants, a black wool trench coat, a stocking cap and black boots. He also carries a walking stick.

Thornton drives a gold or tan 2002 Buick Lesabre with a Michigan handicapped license plate. He suffers from dementia and acts combative at times.

Anyone who sees him is asked to call the Grand Blanc Township Police Department at 810-424-2611.
