FLINT (WJRT) (6/29/2018) - Three people will stand trial for the murder of a California man in a Mundy Township field in April.

A Genesee County judge ruled on Friday there is enough evidence to send Fredrick Clark, Christian Lover and Mataya Shaw to trial. A trial date has not been scheduled.

The Owosso natives all are charged with first-degree premeditated murder and conspiracy to commit murder, which carry a maximum sentence of life in prison with no chance of parole.

In April, 20-year-old Austin Calkins was found dead in a field along Jennings Road in a rural part of Mundy Township. Police say the group stabbed Calkins, then went to a nearby gas station to clean up.

They were arrested after an employee found the wrapper from a stolen Pop Tart in the restroom after the three suspects had been inside. The employee called Grand Blanc Township police, who found the suspects walking in the area.
