Airport employee honored for his heroism after Lt. Neville attack

FLINT (WJRT) - (10/24/2017) - The man credited for coming to the aid of a Bishop airport officer who was stabbed while on duty is awarded for his bravery.

Rich Krul, an airport maintenance worker, is now the recipient of the SAR Medal for Heroism from the Sons of the American Revolution, Michigan Society, Paul Emery Chapter.

Krul helped save the life of Lt. Jeff Neville during a terrorist attack this past June.

Amor Ftouhi has been indicted for the stabbing on an 'interference with airport security" charge.

In a release, the Bishop International Airport spokeswoman explains the award recognizes "outstanding bravery and self-sacrifice in the face of imminent danger for acts that involve great personal courage and risk to the recipient."

Lt. Neville is recovering and hopes to return to work.
