FLINT (WJRT) (9/13/2018) - Al Sharpton and leaders from his National Action Network are stepping up their campaign to highlight issues Flint residents are still having with water.

Sharpton and the Rev. Charles Williams II of Detroit, who leads the Michigan National Action Network Chapter, are attending a rally Sunday to discuss their renewed campaign to seek help and justice for Flint.

"We are making plans to launch a full-scale campaign to continue highlighting the water woes that citizens are still experiencing in Flint today," Williams said in a statement.

Local pastors met with Williams this week to discuss the issues Flint residents continue to face with water, which led to a renewed commitment from the civil rights organization to step up its involvement.

The rally will take place at New Jerusalem Full Gospel Baptist Church on Sunday morning. The church at 1035 Carpenter Road is hosting a free dinner and children's activities during the event.
