FLINT (WJRT) (11/14/2017) - Looking for a low-cost option for getting a pet spayed or neutered and for other preventative health measures?

There's a new option in Flint: The new All About Animals pet clinic, which opened for business Tuesday. The clinic aims to make preventative health care for pets affordable for all owners.

"We try to make sure everyone who wants preventative care for their pet, that it's affordable to everyone," said Renee Jarackas, the clinic director.

The clinic is located at 507 W. Atherton Road at the corner of Atherton and Grand Traverse Avenue.

A few customers came through the doors with their furry friends in the first few hour of the clinic opening. Hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays.

The clinic offers vaccines, microchipping, parasite control, flea prevention and testing for heartworms, parvo and feline AIDS. Spaying and neutering services will begin by the end of November, costing $40 for cats and $80 for dogs.

All About Animals has other locations around Metro Detroit in Warren, Pontiac and Detroit's Mexicantown neighborhood.

"We felt people just didn't have a lot of options as far as care for their pets, so that's what we try to offer," Jarackas said.
