FLINT (WJRT) (12/21/2017) - Hunter Sitko's birthday wish came true.
Instead of getting presents for himself, the 11-year-old wanted donations of gloves, hats and food so he could pay them forward to the homeless. He was able to collect more than 750 pounds of donations from family, friends and local businesses.
Sitko took Wednesday off school on his birthday to make the delivery to Carriage Town Ministries in Flint.
"When you help other people you make a difference in the world," he said.
Sitko and his mother had dinner with the residents at Carriage Town on Wednesday evening and passed out candy canes to everyone.
