FLINT (WJRT) - (02/16/19) - An organization committed to healing for people in recovery and their families is hosting a big fundraiser tomorrow!
It's part of the Serenity House of Flint's greater mission to combat the growing number of people dying due to addiction and overdoses.
Board chairwoman Serena Gunn and board secretary Nicole Stroub stopped by the ABC12 studio to share what you can expect from the event.
“One of the best experiences of my 5 ½ years of recovery was learning how to have fun sober. This event brings together the Recovery community with the generous organizations that donate their time and money to support people in Recovery,” Stroub said.
Bowling begins at 5 p.m. Hear from recovery coach Jenna Pillow at 4 p.m.
“Discovering holistic options to add to my recovery journey helped me shed the old person and grow into my new being with purpose. I believe we go from hurt to healing to healed so we can help others on their journey," Jenna Pillow said.
The price is $15 for kids and $20 for adults. Proceeds from the event will help the nonprofit organization continue its mission in raising awareness and providing holistic healing events and resources for people in recovery.
The fundraiser is happening at B's Bowling Center Sunday. It's located at 750 Center Road in Flint.
