SAGINAW COUNTY (WJRT) (8/14/2019) - All burning permits in have been suspended in Saginaw County's Thomas, Spaulding and Bridgeport townships.

Fire officials say a lack of rain means it's too dangerous to start fires right now. In Bridgeport Township, there have been reports of grass and farm field fires.

The Clio Area Fire Department also is enacting a burn ban for the territory it covers in Genesee County's Thetford and Vienna townships.

No new permits will be issued until further notice. Campfires are OK, but must be contained in a fire ring.
