FLINT (WJRT) (12/26/2017) - A snowmobiler was in critical condition Tuesday afternoon after colliding with a car in the city of Flint.

Michael Danek, 51, was riding a snowmobile north on Curry Street when a vehicle traveling east on Woodrow Avenue collided with him in the intersection around 11:50 a.m.

Danek was transported to Hurley Medical Center, where he was listed in critical condition. The other driver, who was not identified, did not report any serious injuries.

The Flint Police Department believes excessive speed was a factor in the crash. Officers were still investigating whether either driver was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Flint Police Det. Tyrone Booth pointed out snowmobiles are not allowed to be operated within the city limits.

Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to call Flint police at 810-237-6811.
