CLARE COUNTY (WJRT) (11/20/2017) - Police say a Clare County man was drunk when he crashed into his own house early Monday while test driving it after a repair.

A passerby called 911 around 1:30 a.m. after seeing a Dodge Durango crashed into a house on Oak Flats Road in Hayes Township, according to the Clare County Sheriff's Department.

The crash tore open a gaping hole in the wall of the man's mobile home.

David Wesley Wright, 38, told police he was test driving his 2000 Dodge Durango after completing a repair when slammed into his residence. Police say Wright was drunk when the crash occurred, with a blood alcohol level three times the legal limit of 0.08 percent.

Wright was arraigned in 80th District Court on Monday for a charge of operating while intoxicated third offense. He remained in custody Monday afternoon on $10,000 bond.
