(6/20/2018) - Claressa Shields is stepping back into the ring Friday night, hoping to become a two-division champion.

Her hometown of Flint will reap part of the benefits of the title fight.

At a news conference for Friday's bout against Hanna Gabriels, Shields said she plans to donate a portion of her purse to help with the Flint water crisis.

The Super Middle Weight champion is fighting for the vacant middleweight titles at the Masonic Temple in Detroit.

Shields hasn't said how much she is making for the fight or how much she plans to donate. However, she confirmed plans to schedule some bottled water distributions in Flint.

Shields, a two-time Olympic gold medalist, now resides and trains in Florida. But the Flint Northwestern High School graduate said she will continue to support her hometown.
