CLIO (WJRT) (9/21/2017) - Clio Area Schools sent home a letter with parents Thursday warning of a possible abduction attempt involving a middle school student at a bus stop.

According to the letter signed by Superintendent Fletcher Spears III, the boy was standing at a bus stop on Lake Road near Center Road around 7:05 a.m. when a car stopped. A woman in the back seat opened her door and a man inside could be heard saying, "Get the boy in the car."

The student, who attends Carter Middle School, immediately ran home and reported the incident to his mother. The car, described as a white four-door sedan with a red stripe, was last seen driving east on Lake Road.

Spears said in the letter that parents should discuss strangers, the importance of paying attention to surroundings and always walking with others.

Police did not issue any updates on the case.
