FLINT TOWNSHIP (WJRT) - (12/06/16) - A Mid-Michigan cat has gone viral.

A picture was posted saying Peter needed to be adopted and Peter helped get several other cats and dogs adopted.

People said he has such a cute face, they just couldn't resist him.

Genesee County Animal Control was very busy Tuesday afternoon when Peter came up for adoption.

"Took the picture Sunday, posted it and the rest is history. He was made a little bit of an Internet sensation," said Connie Parker, of Genesee County Animal Control.

The caption said he had been held at Animal Control for seven months and was in need of a loving family. Twenty-eight people lined up before noon for a chance to take him home.

"Get me the folding chair and cat carrier and I'll set by the door because I'm going to be first," said Melissa Graham, of Bridgeport Township.

Graham was first and got to see Peter face-to-face.

"That's when I met him and he's very, very sweet and I think I'm going to name him Rusty," Graham said.
