Davison man charged with murder, accused of hitting girlfriend with car

GENESEE COUNTY (WJRT)- (06/05/18) - 28 year old Brandon Scott Merrow of Davison, has been charged with first degree premeditated murder, failure to stop at the scene of an accident that resulted in death, witness intimidation and tampering with evidence.

Merrow is accused of running his girlfriend over with his car.

"He found her walking and ran her down, how we know this, is because, there is a lot of physical evidence, she came up on the hood hit the windshield, rolled along the side the car, hit the back window, knocked that out and then she went to the pavement," said Genesee County Prosecutor David Leyton.

Leyton believes Merrow ran down his girlfriend, 26 year old Tyesha Kemp as she walked along Davison Road June 2nd.

Her body was found on the side of the road a little after 4 in the morning.

When police arrived at the scene Merrow was there along with the victim's mother.

"Yeah, that's kind of unusual. You see that with arsonists, but you don't see that with very often with murderers we think that was all part of a coverup, that he was trying to suggest we better go look for her, but I didn't hit her we think he did," Leyton said.

Merrow faces life in prison if convicted.
