FLINT TOWNSHIP (WJRT) (5/16/2019) - A serious crash involving a motorcycle and semi truck led to a full closure of northbound I-75 in Flint Township.

The crash was reported around 12:30 p.m. on I-75 near Corunna Road. All northbound traffic was being diverted onto Corunna Road.

The Flint Township Police Department says a motorcyclist was merging onto I-75 when he collided with a semi truck. The truck driver did not realize he collided with the motorcycle until other motorists flagged him down.

The semi truck, driven by a 65-year-old Belleville man, stopped near Vienna Road in Clio.

Michigan State Police initially said the 24-year-old motorcyclist died, but Flint Township police say the victim was taken to Hurley Medical Center in grave condition.

At 1 p.m., the traffic backup extended past I-69. All lanes of northbound I-75 reopened around 2 p.m.
