(09/18/17) - Trial continued in Shiawassee County Monday in the case against Candy Lawson.

She's the Corunna woman accused of locking her special needs sister, Dianna, in a closet for years.

Monday, her defense attorney, Amy Husted began her case, calling several witnesses, including Lawson's son and her daughter's fiance.

Husted says they explained to the jury that Dianna had a history of over-eating and making herself throw up.

Husted added it was an emotional day for Lawson. She saw her children for the first time since bond was revoked earlier this year.

Lawson is expected to testify when the trial picks back up this Friday.
