MID-MICHIGAN (WJRT) (5/19/2020) - People who live along the Tittabawassee River in Gladwin County are being urged to find higher ground immediately, due to flooding.
A flash flood emergency is in place for people living south of the Chappel Dam on the Cedar River in Gladwin County.
The same evacuation alert was sent out overnight to Midland County residents living in Edenville.
At one point, officials thought the Edenville and Sanford dams could fail.
The flooding concerns are still substantial for the residents along Sanford and Wixom lakes.
Shelters can be found at Coleman High School off North Lewis Road in Coleman and Meridian Elementary School off North Meridian Road in Sanford.
