FLINT (WJRT) (12/18/2018) - Traffic is finally getting back to normal on I-69 after nine months of construction this year.
On Tuesday, construction crews removed concrete dividers from the work zone to restore the normal three lanes of traffic in both directions between I-75 and I-475.
On Wednesday, the Michigan Department of Transportation is planning intermittent lane and ramp closures whiles crews apply pavement markings and traffic control devices.
From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, the ramps from I-75 to eastbound I-69 will be closed. One and two lanes on eastbound I-69 will be closed at various times through the day from I-75 to Fenton Road.
Construction started in March on the two-mile rebuild of I-69 in both directions between I-75 and I-475. The new pavement was designed to last 50 years.
