(09/12/18) - The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission is revoking the license for the Edenville Project, more commonly known as the Edenville Dam. Boyce Hydro LLC owns the dam along Wixom Lake.

The federal agency issued the order on Sept. 10 and is giving Boyce 15 days to permanently disable generating equipment and provide proof to FERC.

Adam Beebe is part of the Four Lakes Task Force representing Sanford, Wixom, Smallwood and Secord lakes. They're connected by geography, and Boyce Hydro owns their dams.

FERC is only revoking the Edenville Dam license. It details the concerns which lead to the license being taken away in a report. Click on the 'Related Link' to read the full order.

It comes 14 years after Boyce first took ownership and said it would make the necessary repairs.

The federal agency is concerned the dam may not have the ability to pass enough water, if a severe flood were to hit, among other issues and violations.

This is all happening days before a scheduled lake draw-down for federally-mandated inspections.
