Fast moving Freemont Township fire destroys home

FREEMONT TOWNSHIP (WJRT) - (11/22/17) - A fire completely guts a Freemont Township home the day before Thanksgiving.

The 1,800 square foot home is located in the 7000- block of Steel Road.

According to the Assistant Fire Chief, the 911 call came in right around 1:30 p.m., but the home was already fully engulfed when crews arrived on scene.. It took fire fighters about an hour to put down the fire.

No one was home at the time of the fire.

The Assistant Fire Chief of the Tri Township Department says the fire originated in the garage, but they haven't been able to determine the cause.

One firefighter suffered minor injuries.

It took 11 departments were involved in responding to the call.
