Flint City Council takes no action on pay raises for themselves, mayor

FLINT (WJRT) (3/12/2019) - Flint City Council members didn't take action on a proposal that would give them and the mayor significant pay raises.

Under the proposal, the mayor's salary would go up by $34,000 to a total of $125,000 a year. Council members would receive a nearly $3,000 a year pay raise.

The Local Officers Compensation Committee, which periodically reviews elected officials' pay, suggested the wage increases.

Council members have more than two weeks to vote or the raises automatically will go into effect.
