FLINT, MI — (12/08/18) - The U.S. Postal Service is committed to making sure the holiday season will be accommodating for our customers and this even includes extended post office hours on Saturdays and Sundays at the Flint Southwest Post Office, 2500 S Linden Rd.
“We realize as the holidays get closer, opening on Sundays will help our customers with stamp purchases as well as mailing their holiday cards and packages,” says Ron Hippensteel, postmaster.
“USPS expects to deliver an estimated 16 billion cards, letters and packages nationwide this year, and we’re hoping that opening extending retail operations on Saturdays and Sundays will help smooth the process,” he added.
The Flint SW Post Offices will have extended Saturday hours, Dec. 8 and Dec. 15 from 9:30 a.m. – 5 p. m.
The Flint SW Post Office will be open Sundays Dec.9 and Dec.16 from 10 a. m. – 1 p.m.
With the increased mail volume the Postal Service will be delivering parcels daily and often at times outside of the regular delivery hours. Please leave your porch light on if you are expecting a package.
The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
