FLINT TOWNSHIP (WJRT) (4/25/2019) - A 30-year-old man is in critical condition after he was shot in the chest in a Flint Township neighborhood Thursday afternoon.

The shooting happened around 3:40 p.m. in the 3100 block of Devonshire Street near Maxson Street just south of Flushing Road. Police say the victim was shot once in the chest with a handgun.

Witness told officers the suspect ran into a nearby residence. The 46-year-old surrendered to police shortly after and was arrested.

The Flint Township Police Department says it appears two neighbors got into a fight, which led to the shooting. Investigators are not sure what sparked the argument.

The case will be presented to the Genesee County Prosecutor's Office to decide whether any criminal charges will be filed.

Anyone who witnessed the shooting is asked to call Flint Township police at 810-600-3250 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-422-JAIL.
