FLINT (WJRT) (3/8/2018) - Another candidate has thrown his hat into the ring for a judgeship on Genesee County's 7th Circuit Court.

Local attorney Chris Christenson has announced his candidacy for judge of Genesee County Circuit Court.

He will run in the November election for an open seat. Two judges are retiring at the end of the year.

Christenson is a graduate of Flint Southwestern High School and the University of Michigan-Flint. He earned his law degree at Cooley Law School and is the former president of the Genesee County Bar Association.

On Thursday, he described how his 18 years of trial experience will be an asset.

"I've been everywhere learning from other judges," Christenson said. "That experience is going to be tremendous."

Christenson joins attorney Brian Pickell and attorney Richard McNally in announcing his candidacy. Attorney Marvin Jennings Jr. is also running for an open seat.

The primary election is set for Aug. 28.
