Flint jumps from 4 to 22 working playgrounds in five years

FLINT (WJRT) -- (4/12/2019) -- The City of Flint has eight more reasons to be excited about summer.
That's the number of new playgrounds that will be added this season, according to a post from the parks and rec department.
A map shows the city has gone from four to 22 playgrounds in good condition in just the last five years.
Before the end of summer, that number will grow to 30.
Two of those projects will be community builds at Bassett Park and Windiate Playground.
Other playgrounds will be installed this summer at McClellan Park, Fleming Park, Delaware Park, Polk Park, McKinley Park, and Ramona Park.
The Parks and Recs department thanked Keep Genesee County Beautiful, Make An Impact Foundation, Community Foundation of Greater Flint, City of Flint, City of Flint Master Plan and the Ruth Mott Foundation for their future support of playground builds.
