Flint native brings rap superstar Wale to Capitol Theatre tonight

FLINT (WJRT) - (02/02/19) -Beats x Beers is bringing hip hop artist Wale to Flint's Capitol Theatre tonight.

Founder of Beats x Beers, Brandon Corder, says this is just one event he's bringing to the city to change "the somber song" or narrative that's been unfolding.

"The idea was to create something that would have a positive domino effect. Bringing an artist like Wale who has such a huge fan base is bigger than just a name on a marquee," Corder said. "People are coming from all over Michigan as well as outside the state, so that's lodging being purchased, food, gas, etc. All these things are helping our city economy but in turn providing a great experience for these fans. Win-win situations are always ideal."

He says it's both the first hip hop centered show and largest since the Capitol reopened in 2018.
