Former Buena Vista Township police chief sues after he wasn't rehired

BUENA VISTA TOWNSHIP (WJRT) (12/14/2017) - The former police chief of Buena Vista Township is suing the township again -- this time for not hiring him back to his old job.

Brian Booker has filed a federal lawsuit, claiming constitutional deprivation of his employment rights.

His attorney says the township board refused to hire Booker in September, even though he was ranked the top candidate for the position. The board hired veteran Saginaw Police Sgt. Reggie Williams instead.

Booker had previously sued the township after his firing and he believes that's why four trustees did not want to hire him back.

Buena Vista Township officials could not be reached for comment Thursday.
