FLINT (WJRT) (1/25/2018) - Former Flint Emergency Manager Jerry Ambrose waived his preliminary hearing on a pair of felony charges connected to the Flint water crisis.

Ambrose's action means his case will proceed directly to trial in Genesee County Circuit Court. However, he still could plead guilty before a trial takes place, according to the Michigan Attorney General's Office.

Ambrose spent three months as Flint's final emergency manager from January to April 2015. Before that, he served as finance director for the three previous emergency managers from 2011 to 2014.

Ambrose is accused of conspiracy and misconduct in office charges. A trial date had not been set Thursday.
