ARGENTINE TOWNSHIP (WJRT) (9/24/2018) - A 22-year-old man is facing possible manslaughter charges after accidentally shooting his friend in Argentine Township over the weekend.

The suspect was playing with a 9mm pistol around 7:10 p.m. Saturday when it went off, striking 28-year-old Christopher Baldwin in the shoulder area, according to Argentine Township Police Chief Daniel Allen.

Baldwin later died from his injuries.

The suspect was visiting Baldwin in the 16000 block of Seymour Road, the Baldwin lives with a girlfriend. Other friends were over and they were playing with guns, which Allen said they "routinely do," including pointing them at each other.

At some point, the suspect pointed the 9mm pistol and touch the trigger, causing it to go off.

Allen said the suspect, who was not named, likely will be arraigned Tuesday on a manslaughter charge.
