GOODRICH (WJRT) (4/13/2018) - Genavieve Linkwoski's "American Idol" journey may be over, but her music journey is just starting.
"Things are in the process and I really want to start writing my own music and releasing it," she said. "Just keep practicing every day and just try and keep the ball rolling."
Since her "American Idol" appearances, Linkowski has been keeping busy in the studio.
"I talked to a guy in Nashville. He's really big in the Christian music industry, which is what I want to be in," she said.
Although she isn't recording an album yet, Linkowski continues to post cover songs on her YouTube channel.
While she's gained thousands of subscribers from "American Idol," she still has a core fan base in Michigan.
"I'll be walking in the grocery store and someone will be like, 'Are you Genaveive?' And I'll be like, 'Yes,'" Linkwoski said.
She didn't walk away with the title of "American Idol," but Linkowski said she gained much more from the experience.
"It was a really good learning experience to really bring out the artist in me," she said.
Now that shes home her schedule has been jam packed with events, including an appearance Saturday at the ABC12 Family Expo. She plans to answer some questions, offer tips and sing a couple songs.
The expo runs from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Frankenmuth Credit Union Event Center in Birch Run. Linkowski will be there from noon to 2:30 p.m.
