(02/03/17) - People who need critical home repairs may have the opportunity to get them.

Genesee County Habitat for Humanity got a $1 million grant from the Michigan State Housing Development Authority.

The grant will allow Habitat to rehabilitate 30 homes in the Grand Traverse District, Mott Park, Metawanenee Hills, Ballenger Square and Circle Drive in Flint.

Homeowners must live in the house that needs repairs and are required to perform a minimum of eight hours of sweat equity for any repair work received.
