GRAND BLANC (WJRT) - (02/12/18) - Grand Blanc's school board has fired the teacher accused of having a sexual relationship with one of his former students.

Denny Holt is awaiting trial on five counts of third degree sexual conduct.

The victim, now 18, says they may have had sex up to 15 times her senior year which ended last June.

Monday night, the board voted to terminate him and begin the process of getting his teaching license revoked.

Superintendent Clarence Garner released this statement:

"This evening the Grand Blanc Board of Education took action to proceed on tenure charges against Denny Holt. The Board took a strong stance regarding the high standards it has for all staff members in our district. This response by the Board of Education demonstrates that actions that endanger or harm pupils will not be tolerated. As the Superintendent, I am very pleased that the Board took this action to confirm the high expectations it has for all employees in our district. I know our students, staff, parents and the community appreciate knowing that issues like this will never be tolerated."
