(12/09/16) - A groundbreaking in Shiawassee County Friday morning could help better serve one of the top 10 dairy producing markets in the U.S.

It's also helping to produce jobs for the city of Owosso.

The $19 million new animal feed mill will sit in the 1500 block of West Oliver Street in Owosso.

Fourteen jobs will be created in the first phase of the project, with the possibility of adding 30 more.

The project will include constructing a new roadway and water main service line for the mill. That could mean up to 30 jobs for Sonoco Protective Solutions.

The new plant will be the first Cargill animal feed manufacturing facility in Michigan.
