Here's what we know about James Eric Davis Jr., suspected CMU shooter
(3/2/2018) - A little information is coming to light about James Eric Davis Jr., who is suspected of shooting and killing his parents at Central Michigan University on Friday.
The shooting took place on the fourth floor of Campbell Hall, which is part of the Towers residence hall complex on the west side of campus.
The bodies of James Davis Sr., 48, and Diva Davis, 47, were found inside the residence hall. James Davis Jr. remained on the run Friday afternoon and authorities believe he was still in Mount Pleasant.
Police say they had contact with Davis Jr. on Thursday evening related to a possible drug interaction or overdose. He was taken to a Mount Pleasant hospital, where police turned over his care to the medical staff.
Davis Jr. was later released from the hospital and brought back to the campus. Authorities could not confirm what, if any, treatment he received at the hospital.

-- He is a native of Plainfield, Ill., a city of about 45,000 people in the far western suburbs of Chicago.
-- He graduated in 2016 from Plainfield Central High School.
-- His father, Davis Sr., was a part-time police officer with the Bellwood, Ill., Police Department on the northwest side of Chicago.
