GENESEE COUNTY (WJRT) (5/1/19) - A big group of Home Depot workers used their day off to renovate a Genesee County Vietnam veteran's home for free.

About 90 volunteers worked on the Richfield Township house on Tuesday. They say the owner is currently in rehabilitation, learning to walk again.

The updates include a new safety ramp, a new safe bathroom and new appliances.

Volunteers say they wanted to make sure the home was in great shape when the owner returns home.

"I love it. I've been doing it for almost 19 years for Home Depot and it's the best job," said Home Depot District Community Leader Judy Custer. "You're giving back, you're helping people, especially our veterans. Oh my gosh, because of them, we are free. And to give back to them is really rewarding to all the volunteers."
