MOUNT PLEASANT (WJRT) (11/9/2018) - A group of emergency room workers from Mount Pleasant cashed in their $1 million winning ticket on Friday.

The 10 co-workers from McLaren Central Michigan in Mount Pleasant formed a lottery pool last month when the Mega Millions jackpot reached record levels of more than $1.5 billion.

Hospital officials said the group consists of a doctor, eight nurses and an administrative assistant. They didn't win the top prize, but their ticket matched the five white balls to take home the $1 million prize.

On Friday, the group was in Lansing to pick up their checks from the Michigan Lottery. Everyone got $100,000 before taxes.

The group bought the winning ticket at Ric's Food Center in Mount Pleasant.
