GRAND BLANC, Michigan (WJRT) - (12/21/2018) - The Grand Blanc Basketball team wasn't just playing for a victory Friday night -- they were shooting to raise awareness for leukemia and support one of their own.
The Bobcats held "Jack Up Cancer Night" in honor of former baseball and basketball player, Jack Scribner.
He was diagnosed with leukemia just days after he graduated high school, and had to put college on hold, while he started treatment.
There was a bone marrow registry drive and a bake sale.
Money raised will benefit the pediatric department at Hurley.
While in remission right now, Jack is working on completing 3 years of treatments.
