Jimmy Dean sausage links recalled; may contain metal pieces

WASHINGTON (WJRT) (12/11/2018) - Nearly 30,000 pounds of Jimmy Dean sausage links are being recalled because they could contain pieces of metal.

The sausages were packed by CTI Foods in Owingsville, Kentucky, on Aug. 4. They are labeled as 23.4-ounce pouches of “Jimmy Dean HEAT ’n SERVE Original SAUSAGE LINKS Made with Pork & Turkey.”

The affected sausage has a use by date of Jan. 31, 2019. The product bears case code A6382168, with a time stamp range of 11:58 through 01:49.

They also bear establishment number “EST. 19085” on the back of the product packaging.

The USDA has received five consumer complaints about the sausage containing pieces of metal. The issue with the affected lot of sausage was discovered Monday.

Nobody has reported an illness or injury caused by the products.

Anybody with the affected Jimmy Dean sausage should discard them or return them to the place where they were purchased for a full refund. Call the Jimmy Dean customer service line at 1-855-382-3101 with any questions.
