FLINT (WJRT)- (05/11/19)- Some Mid Michigan students had a chance to put their engineering skills to work, Saturday.

They took part in a vehicle design contest at Kettering University.

The statewide competition draws 50 to 60 high school teams-- participating in several competitions.

Nearly a thousand students, teachers, and spectators were expected to be there for the event.

"We offer students hands on project based opportunities to really engage in vehicle engineering and these kids are being exposed to leading edge technologies. They're working in connective vehicle technology and light weighting" said Chief Operating Officer of Square Run Education Center, Barb Land.
