FLINT (WJRT) - (10/17/16) - It's a week that could go a long way in providing a bright and refreshed future for the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Flint.
Monday morning kicked off the club's biggest fundraising blitz of the year.
The highlight of the week is Wednesday night's Suits and Sauce dinner, which will take place at the Flint Farmers' Market.
The event will feature a silent auction and the presentation of the Patrick McMinnes Community Hero Award. This year's recipient is Dr. Mona Hanna-Attisha.
"This is kind of the culmination of the whole year and setting us up for next year. One of the big things we want to do is raise $50,000. That'll help us get to the end of the year and make sure the kids have a great holiday and make sure our afterschool programs stay strong,” said Tauzzari Robinson, CEO of the Boys & Girls Club.
The Boys & Girls Club hopes to add a second hoop house to its gardening program next year.
