Crim adult training program, race signup begins
(01/03/17) - The Crim Fitness Foundation is sprinting into 2017.
Online registration for the CrimFit Adult Training Program launched early Tuesday morning.
The 15 week program meets once a week beginning in mid-May, with groups created for all running levels - even walkers.
A record 1,700 people participated last year, making it the largest training program of its kind in the country.
The goal is to get everyone over the finish line of the Crim's 5K, 8K or 10 mile races, set for the weekend of Aug. 25 in Flint.
"You can sign up now. We're going to have new locations for groups to train in all over Genesee County, no matter what your pace or speed is, we'll have a group for you,” said Joe Dimambro, Crim assistant race director.
Also, the prize purse has been reinstated for the 10 mile race, and that means following a one year break, elite runners from around the world will return for this summer's Crim.
Registration is also open now for the actual Crim Festival of Races.
