Mid-Michigan elementary school warns parents of possible bed bugs

MT. MORRIS, Mich. (WJRT) - (01/12/19) - A mid-Michigan school district takes action after possible bed bugs sightings.

Beecher Community Schools Superintendent Dr. Marcus Davenport shared a letter with parents Friday to explain what happened.

After finding a bed bug on one student's coat and on the table in another room at Dailey Elementary Tuesday, he wanted to clear up some misinformation that was sent home to parents the following Thursday.

He called the incidents isolated and said he wanted to let all parents within the school district to be aware of what was happening.

The letter states that the school's facilities department took immediate action to thoroughly disinfect the areas. A local pest control company was also brought in for additional precautions.
