(08/18/16) - Some Mid-Michigan students got one last book to add to their summer reading lists Thursday.

Over 300 kids at the Greater Heights Academy in Mt. Morris Township each received a copy of "Benson's Adventures in Michigan".

The book is written by two educators in the Corunna School District - Tracy Foster and Shannon Copper-Toma.

ABC12 caught up with Foster at the giveaway to talk about the effort.

"The kids have loved the book. Even in my own classroom, they ask to read it over and over. I think they love Benson's challenges, they love all of the ‘did you know’ informational fun facts about Michigan and there's just so much to learn,” she said.

The book follows Benson the turtle as he tours some of Michigan's best tourist spots. It also includes facts on some of Michigan's most famous faces, including Morris Peterson and ABC's Ginger Zee.
