FLINT, Michigan (WJRT) (12/05/2018) - "I think the fact that he was a World War II vet, he was shot down and he survived that, to become President of the United States , that's just a great honor," said Michael Dear when asked what former President George H.W. Bush's legacy will be.
"Their love story of 73 years, that's really hard in this day and age, you don't see people that last 73 years of marriage," said Kandi McAnnally of Clarkston when asked what resonated with her in regards to the 41st president of the United States.
"I think he will be remembered as a great father of six," said Nali Li, a mother from Grand Blanc, "he was able to spend time with each of those kids individually, such a nice thing to do."
"He stood strong on some of the things that Clinton may have disagreed with," noted Flint resident Valerie Welch, "but it's just gracious to know that the two could come together, yes that does show that you can agree to disagree, you can live in the world together and have two complete different opinions , two different things that you stand for but yet come together as friends and support each other."
Many of the folks we spoke with remarked that they planned to watch some of the memorial service held at Washington National Cathedral on Wednesday.
