MIDLAND (WJRT) - (12/12/18) - A charitable donation will help protect a Midland Police Department K-9 from bullets and other violent threats.

K-9 Tza'Yid appeared on social media with his handler Wednesday to make the announcement.

Within about eight to 10 weeks, the Midland Police Department will be getting the protective vest body armor specifically fitted to the four-legged officer.

It will be embroidered with the sentiment "Honoring those who served and sacrificed."

The name Tza'Yid is Hebrew for hunter.
